Where will my massage take place?
Your massage session will take place in a warm, quiet room, designed for comfort and total relaxation. Soft music and low lighting also help stress slip away. You will lie on a table specially designed for your comfort.
What are the body positions for prenatal massage?
You can discuss body position with your massage therapist. All of our Elements Therapeutic Prenatal Massage studios are equipped with specially designed tables that accommodate the physical features of the pregnant woman. These tables have supported cut-outs that allow you to lie on your stomach, giving your therapist better access to your full body and a more thorough head to toe full body massage experience.
Who will perform my pregnancy massage?
You can be sure your session will be conducted by a professional therapist who has received proper training and certifications. Our pre and postnatal therapists have been fully trained in these specialized therapies. Our therapists love working with new and expectant mothers, and will personalize your massage to address any problem areas.
What will my massage feel like?
Your massage should feel relaxing and soothing. Talk with your prenatal massage therapist about any areas where you are experiencing discomfort or tension before you begin. Massage is performed with either oil or lotion to reduce friction on your skin. (All of our oils and lotions are unscented. You may request pregnancy safe aromatherapy to be added to your massage if you would like a scent.)
Is prenatal massage safe?
Prenatal massage has many health benefits for pregnant women, and an experienced prenatal massage therapist will provide safe and effective treatment. We encourage women to talk with their prenatal healthcare provider about prenatal massage, especially if there are any complications or problems with your pregnancy.
